Field Gallery
An open conversation with the sky.
An open conversation with the sky.
A small regional gallery holds exhibitions, workshops and a public reading room. Its low concrete volumes frame an outdoor court that remains open even when the gallery is closed.
Finding the
essential form.
Three differently proportioned rooms offer curators a range of daylight conditions. A covered passage joins them, creating a continuous public route between town and open landscape.
Material & atmosphere studies
A place to
feel present.
The visitor moves from an intimate entrance into an unexpectedly tall gallery. The sky appears again in the court, where a single bench offers an unprogrammed pause.

Environmental strategy
A compact envelope reduces heat loss. North-facing rooflights provide diffuse daylight, with adjustable baffles for sensitive works. Concrete mixes use reduced-clinker binders.
A restrained material palette
